Studio Nine — redesigning a marketing site for a design-tooling startup

Studio Nine build tools that help small design teams work faster. They needed a marketing site that felt as considered as the product itself — so I redesigned and built it from the ground up.

Overview

Studio Nine were a small, early-stage team focused on their core product — a plugin that helps design teams keep components in sync. Their number one priority was product development, which is why they needed someone to independently own the design and build of their marketing site.

I worked closely with their founder on the brief, and with their in-house designer on visual direction — both gave feedback throughout the process.

The team

Jordan Blake — Founder & CEO, briefed the project and set the direction.

Sam Rivera — In-house Designer, owned the visual identity I designed on top of.

My contribution

1. Content & editorial template. Studio Nine were ramping up long-form content about their product. The first piece of work was designing a flexible article template and editorial styles to house it.

2. Full marketing site redesign. With the content system in place, I redesigned the full site — homepage, pricing, and product pages — building on the existing visual identity and pushing it further with layout, motion and detail.

3. Lightweight design system. To make the site easy to maintain, I put together a small system of styles and components, so future changes stay consistent without needing a designer involved every time.

"Farnaz has been helping us design and build our website, and it's been a super smooth experience. Everything is built with a systems and components approach, so it's very easy for us to manage."
